Stay in Control: Guidance for partial power loss for single engine piston aircraft
The CAA has published CAP 3270 Stay in Control – Partial Power Loss to provide guidance for pilots recognise and respond to partial engine power loss events. The document highlights practical actions to improve decision-making in the event of a partial power loss, reduce the risk of loss of control and increase the likelihood of a safe outcome. Pilots are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the guidance and discuss partial power loss scenarios as part of their routine pre-flight preparation and refresher training flights.
