Public Consultation on proposed Deviation Request UKTSO-C127c.Dev.002

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is consulting on a request for a deviation from CS-UKTSO Amendment 17, UKTSO-C127c. The proposed deviation seeks to amend the pass/fail criteria by defining a specific load threshold at which the upper torso restraint strap may contact the neck of the Anthropomorphic Test Device (ATD) during the dynamic qualification test specified in SAE AS8049/1B and SAE AS8049C, Section 5.3.9.7.

The online consultation includes Deviation Request UKTSO-C127c.Dev.002, Issue 1, which details the proposed Means of Compliance (MoC) and provides the supporting justification demonstrating an equivalent level of safety to the requirements of SAE AS8049C and SAE AS8049/1B, Section 5.3.9.7.

We invite all stakeholders to give us their views. The consultation will remain open until 21 August 2026.
