Help us improve the Student Air Traffic Controller Process
We have been working to improve our licensing experience here at the CAA.
With the upcoming addition of Student Air Traffic Controller licences to our new Manage Personnel Licences service, we are keen to gather customer feedback.
We’re looking for current trainees or Student ATCO licence holders to take part in a user research session where you’ll review our brand-new online application for Student Air Traffic Controller licences. Your feedback will help us to gain valuable feedback and ensure the service meets user needs and supports a smoother application experience.
Session Details
When: Tuesday 14th July – Friday 17th July 2026 👉 Click here to book a research session
Duration: 1 hour
Where: Online via Microsoft Teams
Please note there will be a future research session to gather feedback from unit representatives who apply on behalf of people in their organisation.
What’s involved:
- Walking through the new application process and completing specific tasks
- Sharing your open opinions on the new application experience (no technical or regulatory expertise required)
- A willingness to think aloud: Hearing your thought process helps us to understand how the service works for real users.
If possible, please join the call on a laptop or PC (rather than a tablet or mobile device).
Your insights will help ensure the new Manage Personnel Licences service is intuitive, accessible, and genuinely useful to the people who will be using it most.
