CAP 483 Training in the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air
Following the completion of the public consultation for CAP 483 Training in the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, and consideration of the feedback received from industry, the CAA has introduced a number of amendments, which are detailed in the Revision History on page 7 of the CAP.
The final version is now published. While the document itself does not constitute regulation, it is intended to support operators, training providers, and all personnel involved in the transport of Dangerous Goods by Air in understanding and applying the relevant training requirements under UK legislation and associated international standards. It also serves as the means by which the CAA fulfils its obligations under the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002 in relation to the delivery and provision of Dangerous Goods by Air training.
Organisations that align their training and competency frameworks with the guidance set out in CAP 483 will be well placed to meet future regulatory developments and maintain compliance without operational disruption.
