The BHA are hosting their annual Safety Day alongside Airbus and the CAA on Thursday 8th October 2026 at DARTeC, Cranfield University.

This year, Oliver Byard-Jones, Head of Training at Airbus Helicopters will discuss the use of auto pilots in the landing and take-off modes, Ollie Dismore of the European Helicopter Association (EHA) will provide an update on work concerning inadvertent flight into IMC, and

Aedrian Bekker, Co-Founder of the Centre for Aviation Psychology and Advisor to the International Peer Assist Aviation Coalition will speak on peer support for crew mental wellbeing. There will also be presentations on electronic conspicuity and onshore safety leadership. The CAA will be present and available for Q&A.

There is free onsite parking, and refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

The cost for the day is £25 for BHA Members and £35 for non-members.  Places are limited to 100 on a first come first served basis.
