New vision for scaling BVLOS drone operations
The Civil Aviation Authority has published the Airspace Architecture Concept of Operations for Enabling Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Operations, setting out its vision for how drones could operate routinely at scale in UK airspace. The publication explores how new technologies, digital services and risk-based safety measures could support BVLOS operations alongside other airspace users, reducing reliance on dedicated airspace arrangements. It forms part of the CAA’s wider work to enable routine drone operations and modernise airspace.
