EASA changes to rescue and firefighting services

Remission factor, a common method for reducing the level of protection by rescue and firefighting services based on the frequency of aeroplane movements, is to be reintroduced following the publication of revised EASA acceptable means of compliance.

These changes are expected to maintain a high level of safety, increase cost-effectiveness, and ensure EASA requirements alight with ICAO standards and recommended practices.

Guidance has been published outlining the steps that should be followed when implementing remission factor.
